Thermcraft High Temperature Ceramic Heating Elements and Custom Heating Elements



Thermcraft high temperature ceramic heating elements are available with maximum temperatures of 1010°C, (1850°F), 1100°C (2000°F), and 1204°C, (2200°F). Flat plate, cylindrical and semi-cylindrical shapes are offered and can be customized to meet your specifications.

Fibercraft™ Low Mass Vacuum Formed Ceramic Fiber Heating Elements

Fibercraft™ low mass vacuum formed ceramic fiber heating elements are a heating element and insulation together in one complete unit. These heaters are manufactured using high quality, high purity alumina based ceramic fiber. They are offered with maximum operating temperatures of 1100°C (2012°F) or 1200°C (2192°F).

The Fibercraft™ advantages include lower operating costs, increased radiant energy, longer life, low heat loss, more energy efficient, faster heat up, greater temperature uniformity, faster recovery rates, reduced process cycle time, less maintenance, faster cool down, less installation time, and greater productivity.

FIBERCRAFT™ 1100°C (2000°F) HEATING ELEMENTS

These cylindrical heaters use a helically wound iron-chrome-aluminum wire partially embedded in the ceramic fiber. Leads can be standard (single strand) or braided (two strands twisted). The heaters are available with intregal vestibules with the opening sized to meet the need of the application.

VF-360 Fibercraft Cylindrical Heater

Theses semi-cylindrical heaters use a helically wound iron-chrome-aluminum wire partially embedded in the ceramic fiber. The heaters can be used in pairs to surround an existing pipe or tube. Leads can be standard (single strand) or braided (two strands twisted). The heaters are available with intregal vestibules with the opening sized to meet the need of the application.

These semi-cylindrical heaters use a helically wound iron-chrome-aluminum ribbon partially embedded in the ceramic fiber. The design allows for heat to radiate off the coil in three (3) directions. The heaters can be used in pairs to surround an existing pipe or tube. The heaters are available with integral vestibules with the opening sized to meet the need of the application. Leads can be standard (single strand) or braided (two strands twisted).

P-VFR Low Mass Plate Heater

FP-VFR
The FP-VFR has flanges that allow these heaters to be constructed into boxes, L-shapes, and other configurations. They use a helically wound iron-chrome-aluminum ribbon partially embedded in the ceramic fiber. The design allows for heat to radiate off the coil in three (3) directions. Leads can be standard (single strand) or braided (two strands twisted). Length and width can be customized for most applications.

Ceramic Refractory Heating Elements

Thermcraft ceramic refractory heating elements consist of coiled wire heating elements made of either iron-chrome-aluminum or nickel-chrome wire.  The coils are installed into ceramic refractory shapes and can be open-coil, partially embedded or fully embedded.

80-20 Nickel-Chrome wire is helically wound and placed in a grooved ceramic refractory holder. The wire is exposed but can be embedded if required. Leads can be standard (single strand) or braided (two strands twisted). Available with insulation packages, with or with out vestibules. Length can be customized for most applications.

Iron-Chrome-Aluminum wire is helically wound and placed in a grooved ceramic refractory holder. The coil is embedded with thermal compound cement, to prevent it from growing out at the grooves due to expansion. Leads can be standard (single strand) or braided (two strands twisted). Available with insulation packages, with or with out vestibules. Length can be customized for most applications.

Cast Plate Heating Elements

Thermcraft cast plate heating elements are heavy duty industrial type heaters.  They are 1.5-2″ thick ceramic refractory material that is cast to the desired configuration and receive coiled heating elements that can be open-coil, partially embedded or fully embedded.

Cast Plate Heating Elements (without side flanges)

Cast plate heaters are available in almost any size. The large ID grooves allow for much larger gage wire, therefore higher watts per square inch of heater surface than most standard plate heaters. Most options are available on the PH-C including thermocouple holes, braided leads and site ports to list a few. The standard sizes can be found in the brochure but almost any size can be manufactured by Thermcraft.

Cast Plate Heater No Flanges

FPH-C flanged cast plate heaters are identical to the PH-C above, with the addition of flanges on each side of the heater. The flanges allow the cast plate heaters to be constructed into boxes “L” shapes and various other configurations.

Plug Air Heating Elements

Thermcraft has the capability to manufacture or rebuild most air heaters used in recirculating ovens. Rebuilt heating elements can be modified to yield the highest possible watt output while still giving reliable service.
